Evonik Energy Services LLC is the North American subsidiary of Evonik Energy Services GmbH which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Evonik Steag GmbH, Germany’s largest non-utility power generator, which in turn is a member of the RAG Group, Europe’s only bituminous coal mining company.
Evonik Steag GmbH is a non-utility power generator that owns and operates more than 10,000 MW of electricity and steam generating capacity from Germany to the Middle East to Asia and South America.
As operator engineers, we have unparallel experience and a unique perspective on how to optimize the operation of power generating plants while keeping operating and maintenance costs down and still meet stringent environmental regulations. The Evonik Energy Services GmbH consortium is one of only six consultants to the European Union to provide consulting services on energy safety.
Our Evonik Energy Services GmbH division is a specialist in the engineering, construction and operation of power generating facilities and their associated environmental protection systems, as well as a supplier of IT solutions and services through our subsidiary System Technologies.

Evonik Steag GmbH has provided SCR management service since 1986 and has maintained a continuous presence in the US since 1992. The Evonik Energy Services LLC subsidiary was established in North Carolina in 1998 to provide the North American market with the expertise in SCR management, SCR and FGD engineering consulting services, and ammonia injection systems acquired by Evonik Steag over the last 20 years.
